Say hi to the A7 security robot, one of the newest robots from Knightscope. Knightscope builds robots they hope will predict and prevent crime. Their K5 robot went viral when it had a little mishap by falling in water. The new A7 is a multi-terrain robot that moves like a crab. It's intended for patrolling large areas like an airfield and can go up to 3 mph. It will be shipped as a beta prototype in early 2018. Knightscope says their bots have already helped catch criminals, but they don't fight back against humans. They can scan license plates, use lasers, alert security guards and are equipped with thermal cameras. Watch your back, the A7 may be watching you in the future.
